We are so excited for this program and for the energy it will bring to our movement. Please say hello to our very first Choose To Be Nice ambassador, Nicolette Peloquin.
My name is Nicolette Peloquin, and I am a junior at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. When I am not in class practicing with the cheerleading team or babysitting, you can find me running around Rhode Island performing as Belle or Anna for princess birthday parties. In my free time, I play with my kitty Nala Bubbles and prepare for upcoming pageants with my mom and dad.
Q: What inspired you to reach out to Choose To Be Nice?
A: I was a full-time substitute teacher at a school in Brockton, MA. Our school had become a Choose To Be Nice school and the simple message caught my attention. All the students and teachers had signed the Choose To Be Nice promise. During the following weeks, my students kept saying, “Miss Nicolette, I just chose to be nice!” Their statements made me realize that the promise was having a profound effect on them.
Q: How will you spread the message?
A: As the first CTBN ambassador, my goal is to be creative with spreading the message. I hope to start a chain reaction online challenging my friends to make the promise. I will also be using CTBN as my platform for the Miss Rhode Island pageant. I will have the opportunity to advocate for this wonderful message at appearances and on stage.
Q: What is one of your goals as a CTBN ambassador?
A: My hope is to help expand the ambassador program and get as many people as possible involved. Ultimately, I’d like to help Dina and Choose To Be Nice reach their goal of having at least one million people from around the world make the promise to Choose To Be Nice.
