As the Choose To Be Nice Founder and Chief Distributor, I’ve seen stacks upon stacks of our sweatshirts and t-shirts, but it was still extra special to see them highlighted on national television last week. There they were in all their colorful glory at the end of the table on Good Morning America’s Deals and Steals. I felt like a proud momma watching her children toddle off on their own.
Tory Johnson referred to me as a Boston mom who started Choose To Be Nice as a way to encourage better behavior in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings. That’s true. That event motivated me to launch this social movement, and what keeps me going are the stories of how much of a difference we are making.
I had hoped that being on the show would give us a boost in spreading the Choose To Be Nice Message. Now, I am thrilled to let you know that it was successful beyond my expectations.
It was amazing to see how many people from across the country bought our t-shirts and sweatshirts. In fact, people from every single state in the US purchased our merchandise. Wow! That’s an additional 6,000 tees and sweatshirts now out across the country screaming the Choose To Be Nice message. (On a side note, the most orders following the show came in from Texas followed by Pennsylvania.)
I’m eager to see the pictures and hear the stories about how the new gear changes everyone’s interactions. It’s also great because those sales will help support Choose To Be Nice programming in schools.
Beyond the sales, we collected a great number of promises, which will help us get to our goal of getting one million promises from around the world. Please take a moment to make the promise HERE if you haven’t already done so, and pass it along.
Thank you from my heart for the outpouring of support. This has been a crazy, wonderful experience. I am so grateful to Tory Johnson and the Good Morning America team for making it all possible. We are looking forward to a fantastic 2016.
